We are very proud of our commitment to the local community. While many companies give lip service to community service, PSW has “walked the walk” for more than a decade. We believe that providing service is the right thing to do.
For the past 18 years Gino Johnson has been involved in organizing a motorcycle event known as the Miracle Ride. The events proceeds are given to Riley Hospital for Children. This past week the 2011 event netted over $300,000. This brings the total contribution to the hospital by the Miracle Ride to over 3.5 million dollars since its inception. Gino’s other community activities include holding board positions on CLASS Education, Inc, and the AD COM board of ABATE of Indiana.
In May of 2011, the city was treated to the Indianapolis Air Show. PSW has been involved with the event for the past 15 years and Mike Potter has been on the organizing committee for most of those years, including a year as the chairman. The proceeds of the Air Show are distributed to Children’s Health related charities in the State of Indiana. Mike also is a board member of the United Hope Foundation and The Megan S Ott Foundation.
Recently, John Weingardt, has chosen to run for town council in Fishers, IN. John has been very active in the Fishers community over the years. He has held board positions on the Hamilton Southeastern School Foundation Board including his current position of Treasurer. For the past several years John has served as a precinct committeeman in Hamilton County.
For the past two years PSW has sponsored semiannual blood drives at our office. We will be sending out announcements as these are scheduled to give everyone the opportunity to participate. Many thanks to Lauren Silvey for getting PSW involved in this cause.
Perhaps this community spirit is one of the reasons we have found having not for profit clients so enjoyable.
